Discover the most flattering shade for your nails this season, whatever your skin tone...
Although many of us match our nail polish colours to our outfit, the colours that actually look the best are the ones that suit our skin tone. So how can you find the best nail polish colours for you?
According to Sally Hansen Global Colour Ambassador, Madeline Poole, finding the best shade for your skin is simple. “First consider the tone of your skin, meaning the lightness or darkness level. Then look at the the warmth or the coolness. If you have an undertone of pink or red, nail colours with blues in them are more flattering for your complexion. If your undertone is more neutral, golden or olive, yellow-based shades with more warmth will look fantastic for you.
Golden
Tanned skin looks better with warmer colours. Lighter shades such as warm, pale shades of brown, light blues, pinks and purples can really accentuate a golden glow.
Olive/Asian
Medium olive and Asian skin can carry off almost any nail polish shade, from classic red and dark burgundy, to vibrant blues, pinks, peach and orange. Silver and metallics look great on medium skin tones, too.
Black
Dark complexions suit rich and deep shades the best. Burgundy, vibrant purples and plums look great, and you can also get away with fabulous neon brights – lucky!
